I Elizabeth Boyd...I give and bequeath to two of the children of JAMES DAVIS, who were raised by me, to wit BETSY DAVIS who was called after me and SAMUEL DAVIS who was named after my deceased husband......... or remaining in the hands of JESSE MCVEIGH who has acted as my agent......... money from sale be distributed as follows.... paid into the hand of BURR POWELL for the use and benefit of my sister JANE, to the wife of THOMAS WILSON, ....... her own control and paid over by the said Burr Powell to her self ..... as she may direct....... the rest as follows: to ELIZABETH BEATY, to HUGH ROGERS, to HAMILTON ROGERS, to SAMUEL WAUGH [looks also like it could be LEMUEL] alias GIBSON, to PEGGY HARBERT, a girl that lived some time with me. Lastly I appoint JESSE MCVEIGH and HUGH ROGERS, executors........ the rest of my wearing apparel to be divided among ELIZABETH BEATY, HUGH ROGERS, and HAMILTON ROGERS. Dated 1815. Codicil dated 1823 - ELIZABETH BEATY since dead, I leave to her children SALLY BISCO wife of THOMAS BISCO, SILAS BEATY and POLY BITZER the wife of JOHN BITZER and the part left to HAMILTON ROGERS now dead I leave to SAMUEL ROGERS his son who was named after my husband and the part left to JESSE MCVEIGHS children is to be considered as left to the children by his first wife who was MY NEICE????????? (LOOKING FOR ELIZABETH BOYDS MAIDEN NAME) So who was Jesse McVeighs first wife??????? Elizabeth died between the above codicil dated May 28, 1823 and September 8th, 1823 when her will was presented to court proved by the oath of HUGH SMITH one of the subscribing witnesses on motion of JESSE MCVEIGH, who together with THOMAS ROGERS and HUGH SMITH.
