    1. Thomas Bazzle - b. 1687
    2. In the recently discovered Templer Family Bible (published 1803, belonged to James Templer b. 1751, d. 1847), there is a listing for a person named Thomas Bazzle. We are puzzled by this entry and wonder what connection the Bazzle family had to the Templer family or perhaps to the Trammell family of Esther Templer Trammell who appears to have made this entry. We do note that a John Bazzle/Bazzil was listed in the estate settlement of John J. Templer in 1830-1831. You may see a picture of this page (and others) by going to: _http://www.geocities.com/templerfamily/family-bible.html_ (http://www.geocities.com/templerfamily/family-bible.html) Can anyone shed any light on this person? Thanks, Charlie Templer

    3. Doubtful this connects; but................ In our Shenandoah Co, VA Russell family history, we have a wife, Isabel Russell. Many have thought her maiden surname was Baughzel.. pronounced Bazzel or Bazzle. I have long wondered two thoughts about this: 1) Was Baughzel a German surname? 2) Was the name actually Bazzle or Bazzel (Various spellings)? For some time, I looked around the neighborhood for Bazzle families who might have had an Isabell or Isabella. Isabel Nee? Russel would have been born about 1730.. give or take. She and John Russell began having a family, said to have been born in the 1750.. one, Robert Russell gave his birth place as "Frederick Co, VA", 1754. (Pension Aplication / Rev. War) My direct, David Russell, named one of his daughters Mary Baughzel Russell. (Bible Entry made later than her birthdate with spelling by unknown person.) These Russells were surely from Ireland. (Though no record to prove) That is not much. Long ago, vaguely, I think there was a Bazzle in old Frederick Co, VA; but not sure at all now. 3. Dear Readers, Yesterday Patricia B. Duncan was honored (in absentia) with a Loudoun History Award. Thomas Balch Library selects 4 special people every year, and recognizes their contribution to the history of Loudoun County. I don't need to tell you OOTDs how helpful our Queen of Look-ups always is, but I was amazed when her nominator, Bronwen Souders, totaled Pat's efforts and said her publications amounted to 4,313 pages of information used by local researchers and OOTDs (out-of-town descendants). Congratulations Pat, it is an honor well earned. Ms. Marty Hiatt, CG "Document what you find, listen to what you are told, and especially, love and respect your work."
