Well there was a Jane Wise and a William Wise as well as a John Wire, Peter Wire and William Wire all in Loudoun Co. marriage records 1760 to 1850. William Wise provided bond for Jane Wise who married Henry Oram 23 Sept. 1833. I also have Marriage and Death Notices 1817 - 1843 and neither Mary or Travis is listed. This is a compilation of weekly notices published in Leesburg if they were provided to the newspaper. Why don't you check the personal property taxes to see what adult men with the surname Wise lived here (Loudoun) in 1793-95? And with two women named Mary A. I'd look very closely at their ages. Was there an extreme difference? Can you prove they were married to different men at the same time? If it's just a slight difference in age, Mary A. and Mary Alice might be one in the same. When Travis sold land, did a wife release her dower interest? If not, she may have predeceased him.
