If they used the term "natural child" in a document or a will what was the meaning, if the child was not the child of the person making the will [ not father ] but, the child of his wife ???. Thank you for any help, Sondra
1. "The American Dictionary of the English Language": Many definitions of the word "natural" including (10) "Illegitimate. Said of offspring." I've found this true in at least one old will. 2. "Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary": "3a (1) begotten as distinguished from adopted; also: LEGITIMATE (2) being a relation by actual consanguinity as distinguished from adoption<~parents> b illegitimate<a~child>."
