Hi, I tested my mtDNA at Family Tree DNA based in Houston. SMGF may give free testing but the results might not show up for a long time. I am on a genealogy DNA mailing list and those who have gone with SMGF have not received their results for sometimes as long as two years. If you test DNA male or female you really need to check out the DNA companies before you proceed. With Family Tree DNA I received my full results in 5 weeks but it did cost me as most testing is not free.
