    3. I was quick to jump to this site and view the "catch". It seems legitimate, but from what I've read, we do not get the results back. Kind of a "bummer". Thanks for the info! 3. Well what is the sense of taking it if they won't give you the results. That does not make sense does it. Gee our ancestor, Thomas Sealock appeared around 1750 or so and said he was an orphan. He took the name Sealock and we don't know why. We were hoping that maybe a Sealock male could take the test to compare with surnames from overseas to see if we could get a match. But if they won't give you the results, what will they do with them, and why should you take one.

    3. Hello, If you do go forward with the DNA Testing, be careful with the overseas results. Depending on how long ago you are looking and in what country, there are several who used a different naming system. Wales and Sweden used the fathers first name as the last name of Children. In Sweden for example, The son of Swen Johnson, would be given whatever first name the family wanted (As has always been) but the last name would become Swenson. If his name was Iver, his children would become Iverson. The Welsh just did the first name. Johns children would be of John or ap John and then later on the "ap" was lost in some families. The French often used peoples careers as their name. A cook would be Mr. or Mrs. Cook, or Baker. And the Scots used Clans and there were times that there was no blood relationship at all. Because the Clans would often trade children in order to gain talent and that traded person became a beloved member of the family. Wales is talking about a Welsh DNA. If all the countries did this along with the surname, that would be great!
