I was contacted today by my publisher indicating that someone had contacted them about one of my recent announced "The Mirror" newspaper abstract books, stating that the index appeared to be out of order. I will explain here the probable reason for that assumption. There is an entry in the index listed as 'Minister.' Under that 'Minister' heading are the alphabetical subheadings of the names of the ministers by surname, then given name. As many of the marriage notices included the name of the minister, I chose to list those minister's name as a subheading in the index under the main heading of 'Minister.' By doing so it provides a quick reference to the names of the ministers who were performing marriages during that time period. It also differentiates an article that concerns the performance of his pastoral duties from an article about his own personal life. An article mentioning the minister in a situation other than the performance of a marriage is listed directly in the index by the surname, then given name. I hope this clears an confusion that may have arisen. If you have questions, please contact me directly. Pat Duncan GenNutLdn@msn.com
