Can someone tell me if the 1810 Census was taken geographically. For example, my ancestor, Benjamin Walker, lived in what is now Philomont. In the 1810 census the people listed immediately before and after them were Benj. Kent, Aaron Burson, Ambrose Fox and Jno? Ewers. Where these people the neighbors of Benjamin? In my quest to find the family of my ancestor, Mary Taylor, it seems logical to look at the Taylor families who lived close to her and her husband Joseph in 1810. They were married in 1803 and seem to have moved a bit away from his father but in 1820 they were back in the same area. (On the same page as Benjamin in 1820) I'm also looking at the Taylor families who lived close to Benjamin since it would be likely that Joseph still lived with his father before he was married. Thank you!
