    3. Sorry - I'm not going to be of much help - but I can rule out some things. I've rented the Minister's Returns (LDS films 2167844 & 2167845) for Shenandoah County, VA - and I scanned the early ones whether they pertained to me or not. and I didn't find an BRADENs there. There IS one more film in this set (1772-1877 all mixed up) though. the only other reference I have is this book "Records of Indentured Servants and of Certificates for Land Northumberland County , VA 1650-1795" by Preston Haynie which DOES have an Richard BRADEN, but its in 1730, and not on your list of people. Here it is, just in case you don't have it. p267 - 1628. 17 Feb 1730/31 - Richard BRADEN, Servant of James FARNED, haveing Run away from his said Master five months & 8 Days and his master being at the expence of man and horse Six Days in Retakeing him at 30 pounds of Tobo p Day, ordered that the said BRADEN Repay his said Master by Service according to Law afer his Indented time is expired with Costs. OB 1729-37, 29. Sorry, I can't be of more help Julie in CA Sue Beach <sdbeach22@gmail.com> wrote: I have accounted for most of the BRADENs in Loudoun Co. pre 1860. There are, however, a few that I have not yet been able to attach to any of the BRADEN family groups in the area. Any help with these 'strays' would be appreciated. Jane BRADEN married John HOUGH before 24 Aug 1788 probably in Loudoun Co. She left a will dated 15 May 1831. William Steer & William T. Hough were executors. Will was probated 13 June 1831. Known children: Charles (m. Mary Gore), Ann (m. Elijah Peacock), Rebecca, Elizabeth, Jane (m. John Woolford), Mary (m. John Wesley Jackson), John (m Elizabeth ?), Harriet Ellen (m. Curtiss Grubb), William T. (m. Louisa Bowersett). She also left money to Rehobeth Meeting. Need to determine Jane's parents. Thomas S. BRADEN is shown as a resident of Shelburn Parish in 1830. I have no futher information on him. Mary BRADEN married Stephen BALL 10 Apr 1809 in Loudoun Co. Mahlon Janney affirmed her age. They had a daughter, Charlotte BALL. Stephen died 1819. Mary died ca 1849. Need her parents to place her in correct family group. Mary P. BRADEN married Samuel GRIGG probably in Loudoun Co. She was born ca 1780. She died in Tennessee about Aug. 1860. Her father may have been a John BRADEN who married a Sarah. Pressy BRADEN born ca 1845, appears on the 1850 Loudoun Census living with a family named HOOF. There were 3 other people in the household, all over 60, none named BRADEN. Any clues would be helpful. Thanks. 3. In Loudoun, I have only found it as BRADEN or BREDEN, Other places I've found it in a variety of forms: BRADING, BREEDEN, BREEDING, BRAIDIN, etc. Sue On Mon, Feb 4, 2008 at 3:04 PM, Marge <msealock@mchsi.com> wrote: > Do you think the name evolved into Breeden...it would be worth a shot to > check. > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > The First Sunday in each month will set aside for a "Brick Wall" Roll > Call.
