I continue to search for David McCARTY/McArty/Macarty etc He was born abt 1740 VA He died abt 1790-1793 VA (Caroline or Shenandoah perhaps) His wife is Miss Unknown He had 9 children born 1770-1785 VA- some in Shenandoah, Va His heirs sold his Caroline County property in 1800- the legal record is in Shenandoah County. I need to find records for David McCarty (any spelling) as to his residence during the Revolution. Some early leads brought me to Loudoun County. I find lot of McCartys in VA but nothing on David. All help much appreciated!!! Patti

If you continue you search for William Hemmerly try looking under HAMMERSLY. i have a William Hammersly in my database, but they are from MD, but could be some connection.
