Researching the Hales and Works surnames in Loudoun County VA. Charles Hales married Mary Ann Works (daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth Foster Works)on March 16, 1854. Mary had 7 children, and all were born in VA except the last one which was born in Ohio circa 1868. Mary or Ann, as she is sometimes listed, shows up on Ohio 1870 census but Charles is not listed.
