I have no idea how many McCartys there were in VA, but I know of two McCarty women: Elizaeth (1781-1832) md James Blackwell in Halifax Co VA in 1799. The other was Mary McCarty who md c1787 William Blackwell in New Kent Co VA. Have you checked those counties too?
