Tootsie, 1. From page 48 of Louisa Hutchison's Apprentices Poor Children and Bastards, Loudoun County, 1757-1850: Loudoun County Court Order book L p. 196, 8 June 1789: "Elizabeth Robinson, 8 yrs old 15 June 1789, to William Smith." Our Waterford data base shows two Wm Smiths, one who married Sarah Gregg, with daughters Pleasant and Lydia, who sounds like a Quaker, if that helps your family history; the other William Smith married Hannah Dulin in 1803 in the Waterford area, so unless he was elderly when he married and began a family of several children (one of whom, a Baptist, lived in my house, by the way) he seems rather late...Obviously "William Smiths" can abound elsewhere in the county. 2. From the same book, page 116: Loudoun County Court Order Book 4, page 153, 14 May 1821, "John Robinson, 12 yrs old 21 March 1822, to Thomas Wilkinson, to be a taylor". Our Waterford data base does have info on one Thomas Wilkinson, occupying a two-story brick house in Waterford on the north side of Main Street owned by Thomas Saunders who wished to sell it in 1829 and describes it as one of the "best stands in town from which to do business"--Genius of Liberty,13 June 1829, a Leesburg newspaper. Wilkinson's wife Julia had died on September 2, 1821 in the typhoid epidemic that hit the area; they had no children. Hope this helps. I have an Elizabeth Robinson who married a James White in Hampshire Co. Also a John, with a Mary and son Isaac in the 1850 census. I believe John and Elizabeth were siblings but I don't know that.
