There is a notation in the William and Mary Quarterly Series 1 Volume 14 July 1905-April1906 that there is book called Record of the Peaked Mountain Church Rockingham County edited by Prof. William J. Hinke and Charles E. Kemper It says that the record is one of the oldest and most important German record books to be found in the upper part of the Shenandoah Valley> It contains much historical and genealogical information about the early German Reformed and Lutheran settlers in Rockingham County which cannot be found any where else. It gives for the first time the name of the earliest Reformed minister who preached in that region the Rev. I.C. Van Gemuenden. He ministered to the church from February 1762 to December 1763. The first church was dedicated October 23,1768 by the Lutheran pastor, the Rev. John Schwarbach. On October 31,1769 an agreement was signed by 45 persons according to which the church was to be a union church of Reformed and Lutheran people. The second Church was located near the Stony Creek. The third church was dedicated on May 27, 1804. This building was occupied jointly by the Reformed and Lutherans until the Reformed people separated and erected a new church known as------ Unfortunately my second page of notes made many years ago is missing. I am particularly interested in finding out if a baptism I copied is a Conrad Baker family I am looking for in Loudoun County. The item says Conrad Becker had his son William born March 29,1798 baptised May 25 by Rev V. G. C. Stokus. Hope someone can help!!! Mimi Baker --part1_e4.1d58a544.2918552b_boundary--
