    3. Hi, Janice! My g-grandfather, Edward Smith Ruse, married a daughter of George Slater, Annie Eliza Slater, on March 1, 1855 in Frederick County, MD. She died less than a year later, on Dec. 20, 1855, and is buried in New Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery in Lovettsville. I would very much like to know more about this family. Where did Jacob Slater immigrate from? My information on this family is pretty sketchy, but shows your James to be an older brother. Any information you are willing to share would be deeply appreciated! Thanks! 1. [VALOUDOU] Saunders, Nicholas & Margaret
    2. Kathe Richards
    3. Hi, All! A first Sunday appeal here: Margaret (Warner) Saunders/Sanders (d. abt 1828) and Nicholas Saunders (d. abt 1798) are mysteries to me. Their grandson and my ancestor John Ruse (Sr.) (d. 26 Sep 1884) left money in his will to have a monument constructed: "I also wish fifty dollars to be expended in putting tomb stones to my grandmother’s grave, Mrs. Margaret Sanders, in Loudoun County near Lovettsville, Va.". Several Saunders children are mentioned in Margaret's will. Several of the girls are married to Coopers. But I have no information about Nicholas, Margaret, their parents, or their origins. I have no idea where the burial ground "near Lovettsville" where she is buried is. I'd love to know more about them. Thanks! Kathe (Katherine Ruse Richards)

    1. [VALOUDOU] Trouble with Ancestry mail
    2. Marilee Cunningham
    3. All, Thanks for your input and experience with Ancestry...I have had this trouble over a six-month period so don't think it's a recent problem - just don't know if the mail connects back to those who send it. Has anyone sent a message through it and not received an answer? The thing is we're relying on some internal address at Ancestry instead of the person's real address so it's impossible to check back with the individual who sent it except through Ancestry. Oh, well, I'll try again with the people who sent me a message and see if it works any better now - it's discouraging because our best resources are people who are researching the same families. Thanks again! Marilee

    2. Hi All, I was just wondering if any of you have had trouble with Ancestry mail? I have had several messages from people via the Ancestry automated service and have responded but never hear anything back. It strikes me as odd because most of them have shown interest and excitement about sharing info. I have doubts that the people ever receive my response. I wrote to Ancestry about it once but never received an answer. Thanks for any insight. 3. Probably has to do with Rootsweb and Ancestry letting the dust settle with their mergers they've been doing. My Roadrunner cable company just recently went to a whole new set up, program guides, software etc. They had a major melt down yesterday and wide areas were without cable for geez.... I got home at 5:00 and there was nothing then....... finally came on about 11:30 last night. Kinks and bugs. Ya know. Bad as a car some times. lol -----Original Message----- From: valoudou-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:valoudou-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of marianne dillow Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2008 2:19 PM To: valoudou@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [VALOUDOU] Trouble with Ancestry mail? 3. I havent had any messages in some time but thought perhaps it was just me. I find ancestry technical support less than favorable. I tried for weeks to put a new family tree on their site but it wouldn't upload. I kept getting an error message. I had lengthy correspondence with Ancestry all to no avail. They finally stopped answering me. Last weekend I figured it out myself. If you are using the browser Safari, it doesn't work with Ancestry to upload a tree. Good to know! You would think they would have asked me that question...... I was told sometime ago they are short of employees. Maybe money is tight as with everything else!
