Deleware and Utah are the only ones posted on ancestry.com so far.
I belong to Ancestry too and will be glad to check census for anyone. I hope they get them all indexed as I am chasing a Grandfather and I don't have a clue where he went. I'm still hoping for evidence in Loudoun Co. for the parents and relatives of my gggrandfather Craven S Turner who was born in Loudoun Co about 1819. and left there around 1835, and wound up in Vinton Co. Ohio. by 1843.

Hi Bob, I did some lookups for your Wissinger's in Jefferson County, W.Va. There were only a couple listed. Only one family in 1850 census, no others in 1840-1920 census records that I could find. Keep in mind that some of the later census records for 1800's was lost due to fire. Here is what I did find. 1850 census Jeff.co. 28th district dwelling #1379 family #1394 George Weisinger (79 years old) born in Va. occupation: none Habe Weisinger (56 years old) born in Va. occupation: none _________________________________ old newspaper article Farmers Repository P3C3 1815, July 13 notice: list of letters at Harprs Ferry Post Office John Wissinger (among others) Spirit of Jefferson P3C3 1846, July 3 letters at post office George Wissinger Virginia Free Press P3C4 1847, Aug.5 notice: George Wissinger of Virginius, Harpers Ferry, wants to employ journeyman blacksmith. While in the process of moving to a new home, I found something that someone sent me years ago. The guy had compiled a book/booklet on the Tribby family. He sent me a copy because I had sent him some data on the Poultons who married into the Tribby family. I'm assuming that no one has a copy of this? None at the Balch library? That would be strange. Anyway, after seeing the book while packing up and moving, I laid it aside, and now I'm scratching my head trying to remember where it is. The dust still hasn't settled at the new place yet. But if no one's never heard of this book, then I'll take a good look for it this weekend for more particulars. The book looks like it was printed from some computer program. I think it was put together in the late 1980's or early 1990's. Anyone ever hear of this book? There were Tribby in Charlestown, Chester Co., PA in 1782 (will proved)
Does anyone know of a Tribby researcher who has done an all encompassing search for all members of this family, that is, those with the Tribby surname? I'll make a wild guess that they came from Pennsylvania, but what county? Is Thomas Tribby (md. 1813 Loudoun, Mary McFarland) on anyone's tree? Ms. Marty Hiatt, CGRS "Document what you find, listen to what you are told, and especially, love and respect your work." John Morris CGRS is a service mark of the Board for Certification of Genealogists, used under license after periodic evaluations by the Board.
Tom, You might wish to post this on the Frederick Co, VA board as there were several hits for Daingerfield there, since he lived in that county at the time. And perhaps Clark Co as well? Just a suggestion. "G.Thomas Bishop" wrote: > I've listed an old letter on www.ebay.com, dated 1836, 'postmarked' White > Hall, VA, written by L.P. Daingerfield to Judge Richard E. I've listed an old letter on www.ebay.com, dated 1836, 'postmarked' White Hall, VA, written by L.P. Daingerfield to Judge Richard E. Parker of Snickersville (Loudoun county). You can see a photo and read some abstracts at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1343171185 I tried contacting some Daingerfield researchers; only one I heard back from said it was a fifth cousin in her husband's line (or something like that) and wasn't interested. I don't know anything about Judge Parker. I'm letting this list know about the letter on the offhand chance that it might just interest someone from a historical standpoint. Wish I could find some more old Loudoun area letters, but they're few and far between. Tom Bishop
