    1. [VALOUDOU-L] Christopher Pritchard 1762 Loudoun/Fairfax County
    2. Looking for more information on the following Christopher Pritchartt, or his widow after 1762 Sarah who may have remarried? Can anyone elaborate on this or offer more? This may be a clue to my Pritchartt/ett/ard family who owned land on the Loudoun/Fairfax County line near Johnny More Creek 1790s. Anne Begin: In 1741, Christopher Pritchard II (308) was granted 216 acres of "waste land" by Lord Fairfax. Marked by red oaks, white oaks, cedars and sycamores, the boundaries of the land crossed today's county line between Fairfax and Loudoun Counties.******* By 1762, after Christopher's death, his widow Sarah Gollathan (309) lost a court case brought against her by the Anglican churchwardens of Cameron Parish. The sheriff seized some of her clothes to pay the judgement awarded to Adam Patterson, including one gown, two aprons, one shift, one piece of an old shirt, one pair of old stays, two ribbons and a pair of old gloves. Certainly other Pritchards had little loyalty to the Church of England or to British rule, and this may have caused some of Sarah's problems.

    3. Linda, I just reread your message and noticed Mary Davis daughter of Samuel Davis. My Elizabeth Davis b. 1779, daughter of Samuel Davis had as sister Mary but I don't have a birth date for her. The information that I received from someone else said she married a Hoffman. I know that there was more than one Samuel Davis in the area. Would you please look in your marriage bond book for Ruth Millburn or Milburn b. about 1791, married Jonathan Bunnell or Bonnell 1807 in Loudoun Co. Also Ann Millburn b. about 1790 and married William Bunnell or Bunnell 1811 in Loudoun Co. Do these marriage bonds give the name of the bride's father? I would like to know if these two are sisters and who the parents were and the exact date of the marrage or any other information given. Thanks. Cindrilla's parents are thought to be Jonathan and Ruth (?) Bonnell (Don't know Ruth's maiden name). The Bonnells' origin is a little unclear to me but it includes Maryland and other family members think thery are originally from New Jersey. The name Bonnell is frequently spelled Bundle and Bunnell in official records, tho the later 19th century branches of this family used the Bonnell spelling. Is it possible there's some connection? Maybe we should exchange info just in case.

    3. More Loudoun families info ( BTW, it was close to 90 degrees in Ft. Lauderdale last weekend and not a cloud in sight :) ) I only have a few generations in Loudoun - it seems that the PA quakers Thomas (my 5GGfather) and his brother Simion Haines/Hains moved to the Leesburg/Goose Creek area in the late 1700s. I can find no records of Thomas's marriage to Mary, nor of the birth of any of his children Stacy (my 4GG-father), Mary, Sarah, Simeon, Thomas or Hephizah). I'm guessing they were born in PA, not VA. Thomas died in Loudoun in 1799. Stacy and his wife Mary had the following children: George Washington (b ~1805), Thomas J, Joseph, John W, Edward, Hannah, Manley R, Sarah, Cassie (Casandra) and Margaret. I can find no marriage record for Stacy and Mary and have no maiden name for her. My 3GGather was George W - he moved to Baltimore sometime after 1825 (when he was executor of his father's will) and died in Baltimore before 1850. By the way, I had a chance to visit Leesburg in March and spent an afternoon in the Balch Library and the courthouse. I enjoyed my visit and everyone was so helpful - thanks! If anyone has any Hains leads or info (especially leads on my two mystery Marys), please holler! Pam

    3. Denny; Will keep my eyes open on Wilhelm. I'm familiar with the Fauquier Littleton ADAMS line as I'm a native of Fauquier myself and thought for years I was part of that line. Do you have any idea where Wilhelm was before Loudoun? Both the Fauquier Co. Littleton ADAMS line and the Fairfax Co. Abendego ADAMS line originated in Charles Co., MD though each line contends there is no connection between the two. Prince William Co. had ADAMS as well, with a prominent Charles ADAMS living in Dumfries in the 1700's. He was an Assistant Tobacco Inspector and lived right on the harbor. I've been looking for years and can't match him to any clan yet. I've seen indication that the Gabriel ADAMS line originated on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and then went into Fairfax Co. before coming into Loudoun. You might want to look at my database and see if anything is familiar. I've got ADAMS from both Fauquier lines shown, though my line is the one that includes Francis Adams and Mary Godfrey. Here's the URL http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=blueridge Let me know if you have any indication of Wilhelm's origin's. Should I ever see mention of him, I'll certainly let you know. Regards, Sandy Denny Shirer wrote: > Sandy, > > Please keep me apprised of anything you find on the Wilhelm (William) Adams line. 3. Sandy, Please keep me apprised of anything you find on the Wilhelm (William) Adams line. If the New Jerusalem baptism records are any indication of relation, there seems to be many Adams connected including Wilhelm. His son George and daughter Elizabeth moved to Muskingum Co., OH and remained in the Lutheran faith which seems to be the only way so far to distinguish them from the other lines. There is also another Adams line from Fauquier Co., VA that also migrated to Muskingum Co., OH. They also had some forays into Loudoun Co. I have many records on this family trying to connect them to mine but there is no connection. This is the Littleton Adams line. 1. [VALOUDOU-L] Mathers, Burgess, Horsman, Ryan, Frame, Turner, Brooks
    2. I have a William Burgess married to Martha A. Burgess. William died 1880 age 64 years. Had daughter Martha A. Burgess who married John W. Turner. Also had a son born 1855. I have a William F. Burgess who died 1894 at age 39 years. His mother was Louisa Burgess and I assume she is the Louisa who was married to John Burgess. William F. Burgess was married three times, Penelope S. Burgess, Lydia J. Frame, (parents Jas. W. and Jane Frame) and third, Rachel Burgess. I show a Louisa Burgess as a sister to Robt. Mathers who died in 1879 and is listed in his will. The will shows William F. Burgess as well. I also show B.F. Mathers as a nephew to Wesley Brooks and a Mary Brooks as his Mom. I show a Samuel Hors(e)man who married Josephine Burgess (widow) and that she is the daughter of Alfred Ryan/Ryon, and John Turner attests the ages, in 1879. I show another William L. Burgess who is the child of Charles and Mary E. Burgess. Additional children of this couple are Alpheus, Arthur F. and Cora Belle. My question is how do William Burgess, Margaret Burgess and Louisa Burgess tie into each other. Also, does anyone show a birth for a female Burgess born 1821-22 in Loudoun/Fairfax/Fauquier/DC/Md? Thanks for any input. All lived in Loudoun and or Fauquier possibly.
