There is a massive amount of information on the Janney Family who migrated from Bucks Co. Pa. to Virginia. I would suggest you check Quaker records in both areas. There is innumerable citations in Hutchinson's Wills. If you have a specific name, I will check it out. -----Original Message----- From: Ruthie Anderson [mailto:ruthieanderson@fuse.net] Sent: Wednesday, March 13, 2002 6:16 PM To: VALOUDOU-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [VALOUDOU-L] Janney of Old Wheatland Road, Waterford Looking for information about a Janney family who lived on Old Wheatland Road in Waterford, VA. Thanks to all that responded to my Haines info (including Pat Duncan who origianlly provided me w/ great deed and will info many months ago). Yes, I have the Haines geneaology and the Hinshaw CD, which pointed me to Loudoun, but also shows that Thomas was not a good Quaker (he was disowned for "disunity" in Burlington before moving), so all those wonderful records ceased! Family history states that Stacy Haines, who died in 1826 in Leesburg, is buried in Hamilton, Loudoun, but not in any cemetery that I can find! Also the family history says that he served in the Rev. War, but that is highly unlikely and I can find no record of him I also have info that his father Thomas, served in the 2nd Pennsylvania Regiment, but again can't find this in any records. Any one have any other clues or hints??? Pam EuroCastles@aol.com wrote: > Simeon and Thomas dad I show as Daniel. Betty Harris wrote: > I think there is a genealogy of the Haines family. William Templar witnessed will of Joseph Hough of Waterford in 1807. In will of Flemon Wilson Patterson in 1815, John Templer, son of William is identified as being in will. William Templer witnessed will of Lambert Myers in 1830. -----Original Message----- From: CHARTEMP@aol.com [mailto:CHARTEMP@aol.com] Sent: Sunday, April 28, 2002 3:49 PM To: VALOUDOU-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [VALOUDOU-L] Templer Family of Loudoun County, VA As suggested, here is a reminder from our Templer Family website of our oldest Loudoun County, VA, family ties. The Templer family traces their roots to James Templer, b. about 1755 in Shelbourne Parish, Loudoun County, d. after 1846 in Virginia. James Templer married Martha Huff on 31 August 1775 in Loudoun County, Virginia. Martha Huff was b. about 1755 and d. after 1840. Nothing is known at this time about the parents of these two people. An old family history, published in 1894, includes the story that the family name was Temple and that the 'r' was added about 1750. A later writing in 1939 added the story that the 'r' was added because of a dispute in the family. Nonetheless, we would be interested in talking to anyone in a Temple or Templer family who has information that might make a connection to the parents of James Templer. We would also very much like to find death and burial information for James and Martha. James Templer and Martha Huff had 7 or 8 children depending on how you interpret various census data. Those were: · William Templer (b. 29 December 1775, d. 24 October 1854) · John J. (or Jonathon) Templer (abt 1777 or 1778) - may be two people · James Templer (abt 1779) · Esther Templer (abt 1780) · Martha Templer (abt 1781) · Stacey Templer (b. 1782, d. 29 October 1864) · Thomas Templer (b. 1787, d. after 1850) For additional information on the first six generations and other details, check our family website at: http://www.geocities.com/templerfamily Appreciate any pieces of information that will help in our search. Most of the nine sons moved on to Richmond, while third son James (1754-aft.1810) remained and inherited his father's property. Hi Suzanne Yes, they did and this is what I have on that. Mary Elizabeth Brabham (Thomas Brabham,Jr., Thomas Brabham,Sr.) born Dec. 2, 1819 in Loudoun County, Virginia married Feb. 23, 1841 in Loudoun County, Virginia Richard Haney Alexander born Dec. 9, 1818 in Loudoun County, Virginia Sarah Suzanna Brabham (Thomas Brabham, Jr., Thomas Brabham, Sr.) born Nov. 17, 1821 in Loudoun County, Virginia married Aug. 9, 1842 in Loudoun County, Virginia David Alexander born June 14, 1816 in Loudoun County, Virginia so if you could get the book and fill in some info that would be great, I was thinking that Richard and David were brothers but I don't have any of that info so what ever you could fill in that will help to try to break down that wall. I know that part of the Brabham's stayed in Virginia while the rest went on to Ohio and be on to were we are now on the west coast in Oregon since 1888 have been told that they could have taken a train about that time to Oregon Will
Simeon and Thomas dad I show as Daniel.
Thank you for the information. I really appreciate this. Brenda
Hi. Roxanna Burgess who married John Stephens is my brick wall. I wish to keep intouch with you because I believe we may be on to something here. I just printed what Pat sent me, and I'm going to compare these with what I have. I'll let you know.

I think there is a genealogy of the Haines family. I know there were Haines in Burlington Cty, NJ who were Quakers. Many of the persons living in this county went to Va near Hopewell Meeting. Check their records. also some went to Frederick MD. See Hinshaw Quaker records-in book forms or CD.
Jno. Alexander Stephens m Roxanna Burgess Oct 7 1839 Sec. William Burgess& Warner W Shackleford. Margaret Burgess, mother of girl, auth. license. Wt. Louisa Burgess. from Jewell's Loudoun Co Va. Marriage Bonds 1762-1850 Linda
Do you have that John Alexander Stephens, b. 12-11-1811, Loudoun Co., married Roxanna Burgess, 1839, Loudoun, dau. of Margaret Burgess. Witness to marriage was Louisa/Louise Burgess. Son James A. Stephens m. 1st a Lowe. I don't know how, but I think my Elizabeth Burgess/Bussey, b. about 1814, Loudoun, m. John Cross, is connected to Lowes. Have you seen this Elizabeth in your searching? Thanks... Bonnie in OKC
Helen, All I have is the following: Samuel Bunnels m Elizabeth Davis Samuel Davis consented to dau.'s marriage August 29, 1801. No bond. Daniel Bunnell m Nancy Thomas Nov 13 1809 Sec. William Harned, gdn of girl. There are no Bonnells. No Ruth or Ann Millburn/Milburn--only Hannah, John, and Sarah. Also quite a few Milbourns, but no Ann or Ruth. The entries usually list who secured the bond and may or may not reflect the relationship. Sometimes there are several names listed (people who gave permission for the marriage and testified to ages.) I always include all the information when I send it out. The Samuel Davis entry is a bit unusual in that it doesnt give a date of bond since apparently none was required in that case. Wish I could be of more assistance and that we could link your Samuel Davis to mine! Linda
Hi! Just wondering if any of your BRABHAM families married into the ALEXANDERs? The ALEXANDERs were also shoemakers. Originally startedin Loudoun, and moved from there. I know we have that line somewhere, but I'd have to get the book from my mom to find out where. Let me know if this rings a bell! Thanks in advance.
