I checked Wertz and Jewell's Marriages of Loudoun Co., and Early Church records of Loudoun Co., Virginia and found only one record of Betsy Voteh attending a Quaker marriage in 1795. I couldn't even find a notation of them in Hutchinson's Wills of Loudoun. -----Original Message----- From: Jack Shoemaker [mailto:jackshoe2001@yahoo.com] Sent: Saturday, May 04, 2002 11:30 AM To: VALOUDOU-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [VALOUDOU-L] John Votah and Rebecca of Loudoun Co. Could you please tell us what type of book you found this in, i. e. courthouse record deed book, order book, etc, or published abstracted records, or internet file. This would help us know where to look for such marriage records. I had no idea that something like this might be found. Thank you. Cpzb4@aol.com wrote: > Wow!! Hi, I read what I had posted, and I see some mistakes. I have been going around with George Washington Smallwoods, wives and children since the beginning of time. I'm assuming that by his first wife Miss O'Bannon he had Charles Henry Smallwood Francis Smallwood Cornelius Smallwood John Wesley Henry Lee Thomas Tilden Emma (who was murdered by a senator or congressman) James W. William M. Gus Georgia Ida C. Brooke Archibald. By his second wife Letisa Williams Eliz Rose Ida Alexander Ada Isabell Claude George. I can't imagine that he would have named two children each by different wives Ida, so which wife is the correct mother is a question. I have been told that both O'Bannon and Williams were the mother of my Charles Henry Smallwood born 1873.
If anyone has the tax list for the years around 1800 and would do a look up the following information for me. I was wanting to confirm that Levi Jenkins was living in Loudoun Co, Va in 1800 in the 1810 Loudoun Co. Va. census it shows 2 males under 10, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 26-44 and 2 females 10-15, 1 female 26-44. So I was thinking that maybe he would have been head of household in 1800 and the tax list might list him so I would at least know if he was in Loudoun Co, Va at that time. Thanks Linda

Hello list members, I am searching for Ingram families of Loudoun Co.Va. My gr-gr-gr-grandfather was John INGRAM. John married Mary Ann FRENCH of Loudoun Co. born abt. 1834. I believe John's family also came from Loudoun Co. John & Mary Ann had 1 son, John Washington INGRAM born 1849 Va., and possibly 1 daughter, Delila INGRAM born abt.1845. John Ingram died before 1854. Mary Ann French/Ingram then married George Thomas STAUB. Mary & George Staub then appear on the Jefferson Co. WV.1860 census with their son George Henson Staubs age 5, John W. Ingram age 10, Delila Ingram age 14, an older Delila INGRAM age 75 born 1785 in Va., and a Jonathan Ingraham with wife, Margaret Linton & son, Isaiah. I believe the older Delila INGRAM (maiden name unknown) may be John Ingram Sr's mother. I am searching for any information for John Sr. and his parents. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am new to research in Loudoun Co., most of my research so far has been concentrated in Jefferson Co.Wv. Thanks in advance, Mary
