Eleanor's marriage to Jacob Younkin - Court Case M7218 - 1). Sheriff's Summons, dated: 10 Nov. 1814 - "...Jacob Yonkin and Eleanor his wife late Eleanor Chambers..." 2). John Booth's Pleading, date unkn - "...Eleanor Chambers married to Jacob Younkin..." 3). John Booth's statement under oath dated 14 Nov 1814 - "...Jacob Youkin & Eleanor his wife...are not inhabitants of this Commonweath (Virginia)...". It would be well worth the effort to get a copy of this court case. Barbara Melbourne, FL

    2. Hi Shelvy Yes, I was suprised to receive so many replies.  It is wonderful!  I had just about given up hope of finding any information about John Younkin who we thought  had migrated to Va.  Thanks so much for the lookup.  I will see if I can find that book you mentioned by the Mowers.  Barbara and you have given me a spelling of Junghen that I had never seen, and there are quite a few of them......... Virginia Tempe,AZ

    1. [VALOUDOU-L] Younkin
    2. Susan Yes, I believe that these Younkins are a branch of the same family.  In regard to a migration pattern: John Michael Younkin (1756-1826) s/o Johann Henrick Junghen (1717-1787) is the only one in my data on this line who is shown to have left Pennsylvania.  He married Catherina (prob Loudoun Co.,Va). I have seven children listed for John and Catherina. All were born in Va and dc'd in Pa. If my information is correct, all members of this family eventually returned to Somerset Co,Pa Jacob Younkin married Eleanor in Loudoun Co Va. I have only three children listed for this couple : William Younkin w married Catherine Firestone, John Michael w married Laura Flora Minerd and Catherine w married George Firestone (these were the only children named in estate settlement of Jacob) from research of  Olive Duff, Dawson, Pa I believe the Firestones were residents of Loudoun @ time of marriages, but have no proof of this.. Please let me know if you want further info re: Younkin family. I may find more re: migration as I progress. Virginia Tempe, AZ

    2. Barbara Thank you so much for your reply. It finally gives me something to follow up on re Eleanor. Is the marriage inf re Chambers and Younkin in a particular book? The information you sent is so interesting. I should not be suprised to see the Junkin spelling as I have seen so many variations in spelling . I really appreciate your generous help in my effort to find out more about the Junghens who migrated to VA and then returned to PA...Looks very promising....Something to work with....
