    1. [VALOUDOU-L] Craven Turner
    2. Marty Hiatt
    3. Do you think he moved to Ohio, at 16 years old, without his parents? They should be somewhere in Western Pa., or Ohio, rather than Virginia. Here's another "rough" estimate. If the family migrated to Ohio, they were from northern Loudoun. The southerners "generally" went to Kentucky first. Did your man end up in southern Ohio, just across the river from Kentucky? Have you found him in 1840 and/or 1850? Collect the names of 10-20 neighbors on either side of him from the census schedules, and look for them in Virginia.Who were his associates in Ohio? For whom did he serve as a witness and who witnessed his transactions? Ms. Marty Hiatt, CGRS "Document what you find, listen to what you are told, and especially, love and respect your work." 3. Thanks for your answer. I've never been able to connect Craven S Turner with any other Turners either in Va or Ohio. I just keep searching, looking at all the other lines etc. thinking I might run across him. I have his history from 1834 to now. I don't know if he was born in northern or southern Loudoun Co. He was born in 1819 I looked at the 1810. 20. 30 and 40 census. and had someone look at wills and deeds, no mention of him so far. 1810 census showed these names - Alexander Turner, Jesse Turner John Turner and Robert Turner. 1820 showed Charles, Jesse and Susan, heads of household. Only four Craven Turners listed so far anywhere.in a search. all of them but mine in 1900's . Mary

Thanks My earliest TURNER was FIELDING TURNER born 1706 in Northumberland Co. The son of JOHN TURNER. They were members of St. Stephens Episcopal Church. Fielding migrated to Fairfax Co. and then to Loudoun Co when it was formed in the 1750s. I don't know for sure what country these Turners migrated from but I would assume England. Please tell me the names of your northern VA Turners. Thanks, Pam

Thanks My Turners of Loudoun Co were members of Truro Parish which was Episcopalian, I believe. When my line migrated to KY in the 1780s I believe they became Baptists. Possibly because that was the Protestant religion available at the time. When my GG grandfather migrated to LA in 1805 he was married by an Episcopal lay reader from Boston. At that time Protestantism wasn't allowed in Catholic Louisiana.
