Perhaps if you listed names you are looking for you could get a reply. Or you could contact the Balch Library at 703-737-7195. Good luck, Charlie

    2. iljones
    3. Hello all: I am new to the list, and have ancestors from Loudoun co. I am particularly interested in Elijah HUNTER who was in the 1800, 1810, and 1820 census. There was an Elijah HUNTER who married Elizabeth Sexton 3 Feb 1801; min. John Littlejohn(Meth) 31 Dec 1802 bondsman James Solomon, who test. both over 21. In the 1787 and 1788 Loudoun co., VA Personal property Tax List, there was a Mrs. Israel HUNTER, Eliphlet, HUNTER (Mrs. Israes responsible), and a Thomas HUNTER (Mrs. Israel responsible). By 1789, Eliphlet was responsible, but Thomas is listed with Lephlet responsible, and Eli is listed with Lephlet responsible. Then Elijah HUNTER appears on the personal property tax list until 1820, when he disappears. Elijah HUNTER served in the VA Militia from May 1814 until August 1814. He was in Capt. Dennis McCarty's Company, 5th Reg't Virginia Militia commanded by Liet. Co. W. Street, then later commanded by Liet. Col. John Hopkins. Does anyone know anything about what happened to Elijah HUNTER, or have any information about the SEXTON family, or the SOLOMON family (James SOLOMON was bondsman for their ages at the marriage.) I would appreciate any help which I can get. Ilene JonesILJones@abq.com

    3. Charlie, Fairfax Cemetery is in Waterford VA, about 7 miles NW of Leesburg. Although the Meeting House which it adjoins was "laid down" (discontinued)in 1929 and became a private residence in 1939--and remains one--the cemetery is public property essentially at the intersections of county routes 698 and 665 (Loyalty Rd and Old Waterford Rd.) If you check the Waterford web site (www.waterfordva.org you might see it shown there (our town also has a Union (of Churches) cemetery for non-Quakers and for African-Americans. I see from my Fairfax cemetery index that "Esther Trammell, died July 24, 1856, age 66 yrs", is buried next to "Eleanor H. wife of D.G. Hough. b. 9th mo 20th 1828 d. 6th mo 21st, 1854, age 25 yrs; who is buried next to "Thomas Trammell b. Jan. 20 1809, d. Apr. 24, 1854, age 45 yrs." Is Thomas the son-in-law? :-) I see checking the marriage Bonds by Jewell 1762-1850 p. 87, One Thomas Trammell marries one Mary Catharine JENKINS on April 5, 1839, Security is William Cooper who testifies ages. same book, page 30: Samuel FREED marries Elizabeth TRAMMELL on August 39, 1830, Security is Thos. Templar, guardian of girl, witness Henry D. Freed. Can't help you on witnesses but a Loudoun Bodine descendant is on the list- Bettina Allred--perhaps she can help! 3. I have that Elizabeth Moon was daughter of Roger Moon. William Janney born in 1710.I have his daughter Ann Janney as marriaged to Thomas White and having Isaac Janney born in 1770. For a great history of the Janney family I would suggest you read A Genealogical and Personal History of Bucks Co., by William H. Davis. Vol. 1, page 53 to 64. There is too much to type. I took my information on the Janney's from this infoo which brings them back to the 1500's. In Loudoun Co., Wills: by Hutchinson: Jesse Janney's will: M:218: 1816/17. He lists Stacy Janney, brother;Letitia Wildman's sister's children. Ann White's sister's children.;Isaac Janney children, brother. Hannah Janney, daughter of brother Stacey. William Janney brother. There is also a will on William Janney: D:195, 1787, 1791. Jesse Janney, son; Stacey Janney, son; William Janney son; Isaac Janney, son. Elizabeth Hughes, daughter, Ann White, daughter, and Letitia Wildman, daughter and Abraham Wildman, son in law.
