Listers, Thank you for your replies. All the suggestions and information is gratefully received. I have ordered a will for Anthony King in Lee County VA and will post anything I find. I don't know how he relates to any other Kings in the area. If someone does, perhaps they could enlighten me. I have also ordered some film for Harlan County KY, with hopes of finding the same people. I think it is there that I will find the Buckharts/Burkhartds. Does anyone know who Octavia King is? I find it highly likely that Anthony and Octavia are related, perhaps brother and sister. Two Latin names with the same surname is probably not just a coincidence. My mother remembers her talking about her father. He was wounded in the civil war and had a wound that wept. She remembers the terrible smell of the wound and what a cranky man it made her father. He later died of that wound.
