Since White Shoals has been mentioned on the SW VA list I thought I would ask???both SW_VA & VALEE CO Lists Does anyone know if there was any flooding between about 1885-1900? If so would there be a list of names of people who died in a flood back then? The reason I ask is...my grgr-aunt MARY ANN OWENS McCLURE was born in Lee Co 1874 and lived at one time either in Rose Hill or White Shoals. Mary Ann married WILL?WILLIAM McCLURE unknown and I can't find either after 1880. There was talk from a distant relative that they either were killed by indians or had died in a flood.
