I have asked this before but will try again. does anyone remember anything of the engle family of Poor Valley? Does anyone remember the shooting of "Shake" Wilson? Or what became of his children. My mother talked of them many times and this "terrible" incident. S.Engle

This was the family of James Ingle & wife Sallie. In 1920, they lived on Poor Valley Road. Here is their 1920 census entry: 1920 Census, Poor Valley Road, Rose Hill District, ED 48, Pg. 5B, Dwelling 95, family 96: Jim Ingle, head, rents, 68, cannot read or write, b. VA, father & mother b. VA, laborer - farm Sallie, wife, 45, not literate, b. VA, father b. VA, mother b. KY Lannie, son, 14, cannot read or write, b. VA, father & mother b. VA Nora, daughter, 12, cannot read or write, b. VA, father & mother b. VA Lillie [hard to read], daughter, 11, cannot read or write, b. VA, father & mother b. VA From earlier censuses, other children of James (Jim) & Sallie included: Sarah, Tom, Maggie, Ollie, Nellie, Ellie, and Andy. Please let me know if this is the same family. I'm particularly interested in the mother, Sallie. Margaret
