HeritageQuest DOES have the 1850 and older censuses, but they are not indexed. I learned this from a friend of mine after I had been using HeritageQuest for months on end. Instead of clicking on Search at the top left, click on Browse. It takes much longer, of course, but you CAN get to them, hallelujah! The upside of this is that you often find people you need but weren't looking for, because people tended to settle near relatives. Vanette in Missouri
