    1. Re: [VALEE] ELY/NAPIER/WILLIAMS
    2. Carol, Just saw your post and thought I'd give you what I have and ask you a question. I have Jane ELY, B. 1763 in Bedford Co., VA., Mar to Rene NAPIER 21 Feb. 1787 in Montgomery Co., VA. Her sister Rachel B. 1760 Mar Edward NAPIER, Rene's brother. 28 Dec. 1786.. They were the daughters of Thomas ELY (the immigrant) B. 1725 in England and Jane Elizabeth Smith, B. 1730 in Ireland. He and three of his sons,Thomas, Jr., William and John were all in thre REv. War (and are in the D.A>.R.) He died in Bedford Co., Va in 1782, and after that Jane moved the family to Lee Co., VA. That's all I have on the Napier men, but I do have all of Thomas and Janes children and their spouses, and then all of my husband's direct line, which is Thomas Sr., John, John T., and Margaret (who married Peter BEELER in 1850 and moved to TN. Now my question. Do you have anything on the BURGAN family? After searching for 25 years, I still don't have the parents of Margaret JONES, who married John T. ELY., in 1813. Recently I had a letter that said that Margaret's maiden name was BURGAN, she married a JONES, he died then she married John T., ELY. Do you have anything in your BURGAN file that sounds like this? With your Alice marrying a BURGAN, I thought maybe you might. ALways grasping at straws!!!! Thank you. EArlene Hutsell [email protected]
