This Lee county application for a Rev. War pension for William Ely is on a program called Heritage Quest which is on some libraries who put it on line. It describes his wounds from Buford's Defeat where his shoulder was left open by a sword cut. He enlisted in Bedford county and the family moved to Lee. Thanks Sue. I and the rest of the persons who worked on the book appreciate your comments. We had so many pictures we were unable to use we would like to use them and as well as what people would give us sometime later to do another one. We would like for people to think about sharing some pictures with us. Of course, this is down the road. We have already had some to tell us they have pictures and they just didn't get them out.
