Thank you for the wonderful story. My mom family moved from NC TO LEE CO ALSO. My mom was born in Pennington gap, va. Her family moved 2 yrs after she was born. I haven't seen what it looks like at POWELL RIVER, STONE CREEK. I had never heard of Stone creek and couldn't find it. My Mom told me she thought her Dad's mom was born there. But, I have no idea it was right there in the area my mom was born. Does anyone know how close pennington gap and stone creek are and What they look like? Does anyone know of a good book that has all the pictures in it of the area? Stone Creek is that area from where 801 cuts off to go to St. Charles following on up 421 to the Ky. line. Lived there in my younger years. . --- Original Message ----- From: "Destini Warner" <kittykat9899@yahoo.com> To: <valee@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 22, 2008 12:27 AM Subject: Re: [VALEE] Pennington Gap > Thank you for the wonderful story.
