ANDREW BAKER in the Bi-Centennial History of Lee County, VA might be of interest to you also........ ...The earliest known ancestor of this Baker family is Andrew "Andy" Baker, b. c 1604 at Buckingham, England. He came to Boston MA about 1624. This Andrew's son, John Baker, was b. in MA. John Baker emigrated to PA or VA. John Baker was the father of Robert Baker, b. c 1655 in VA and d. 1728 Lancaster Co., PA. Robert Baker settled in Conestoga Twp, Chester Co., PA [later Lancaster Co., PA]. He bought 500 acres of land on the Susquehanna River from Col. John French. Robert and his sons were gunsmiths and were commissioned by the King of England to make fire arms for the Colonies. Later the Bakers would join the Colonies against England in the Rev. War. Children of Robert Baker are believed to the following: 1. Caleb Baker, d 1754 Amelia/Prince Edward Co., VA. He m. Martha Brooks Thomson. Robert [Jr.] and Mary Thomson Baker are believed to be the parents of James Baker, Esq. James Baker, Esq. was the first white man to hold title..........
