To Sheryl (Young Barnes): In your Godsey family do you have Isaac Samuel Godsey b. ca 1811 who married Kate Carmack? Or Isaac Godsey/Goodsey b. 1851 who married Rachel E. Ayers in Lee Co, VA on 18 Feb 1872? Kate Carmack was the aunt of Rachel Ayers. I think (but have no proof) that the two Isaacs may have been father and son. I would appreciate help from anyone on this family. Gail, I am passing your email to a distance cousin also. We do not know much about the Godsey family but what we do have we will be glad to share with you. There was an Isaac Godsey, but do not know if it was your line or ours. Our line came from Lee and Wise County's. We ran into a problem with too many William's and Elizabeth's to track back.
