    3. If you have called for a roll call These are the surnames I am reseaching in Lee County. Williams, Nichols, Robinett, Dickenson, Cheek, Smith My families were in Lee and Wise counties at least in the last half of the 19th century and beyond. I am interested in the Anderson family also, as one member was a very special person in our family(Jenny Anderson - born around 1900). These families lived around Big Stone Gap, Norton, East Stone Gap. There is a log cabin in the county that I saw 20 years ago that was built about 1860, I think , and was where my grandmother's family ( Nichols) lived . She spent her summers there . Would like to correspond with anyone who is connected. Carol Shaw

Anna Frances Robinett daughter of James E. Brownlow Robinett and Emily Blevins Robinett, married second William Jefferson Nichols about 1903. Anna Frances Robinett was the widow of Samuel Jasper Hawes who was killed in a mine accident June 29, 1903.Sam Hawes is buried in the Old Coeburn Odd Fellows Cem. William and Anna had three daughters Ivory Naomi, Nora, and Rebecca. All were born 1904-1910. From an earlier marriage William Nichols had at least one son Joseph Earl Nichols Sr. Joseph Nichols married a daughter of Anna Frances and Samuel Hawes who was named Carrie Frances Hawes making a second Nichols connection. William Jefferson Nichols Was in some manner employed by the Odd Fellows orphanage at Richlands VA. Anna Frances died in april of 1942 and was buried at Mud Fork near Mount Gay in Logan Co. WV. Does any one connect to any of these folks? Other Lee/Wise families are Blevins, Stapleton, Ely, Drake, and Ramey.
