    3. I do not know if my Rogers are in these Lee Co. books or not--Adenstone(Denson), William, James, Thomas, Doswell/Dauswell. However, I am in the process of profiling these families myself in the effort to put disjointed families together for all of the novices who eventually will end up in Lee/Scott Cos. It is a staggering amount of people so far whose roots come back to these two counties. I also have found that if you don't leave a lot of relatives in a place or if they aren't interested in genealogy, you aren't going to find your families in the county history books. The movers and doers seem to be in these books. To have your genealogy on the Lee Co. web site or written into books takes time and effort. I am presently documenting these Lee Co. Rogers with records--census, tax, land tax, deeds, court cases, etc. I am NOT using Ancestry.com, etc. from the net as these websites are far from accurate. If everyone would document what they had and sent it to a central location like Edgar, we could have a clearinghouse. If you want some data, you can't wait for someone else. If you will build a documented foundation, others WILL COME with their data and add it. Then when you come to Lee Co. you will find data on your surnames. Just sitting around waiting for it to appear on the Lee Co. web site or talking about it not being on the website is just not reality. Genealogy does not come at the push of a button. It comes from hard work and long hours of researching. Also, I do NOT own a computer. I have been doing genealogy since 1968 and I still do it the old fashioned way. It took! years to learn the skills necessary to be a good researcher. Today people are thinking all you have to do is turn on the computer. It just isn't so. When I have gotten enough data together, I am sending it to Edgar. If any of you are Rogers researchers, I will be glad to try and help you. And, remember that many of the records are on microfilm and can be obtained thru Inter Library Loan. Many of the Lee Co. books are no longer found when you go to the courthouse. Many of them will not survive much longer as they are getting close to 200 years old and are in poor condition. So don't wait for someone else to do it for you. Let's all work together on saving Lee Co. history today for tomorrow may be too late. Good luck to all of you on your researching. Eleanor (Sorry, I get carried away. It must be from being a school teacher for 33 years. LOL)
