Hi Linda, Thank you for both post, I will try to track down the books, I have a cousin over in Claiborne Co. and I will see if she might have a better chance as I live in AR! Thanks again and Take Care... Evie __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
Will someone who has a fast computer and who knows how to search/access on the Internet, go to this addy http://web.archive.org/web/*/earlysettlersleecountyva.com/* and see if you can find the entire index archived? If you are successful, will you please share with the rest of us? I'll gratefully appreciate any help you can offer. When I click on the following addy, the page comes up as non-existent, but I can reach it by clicking in My Favorites on my computer. At this addy http://web.archive.org/web/20021101111409/www.earlysettlersleecountyva.com/c.html I can reach the "C" list. At the bottom of the "C" page, I can click on another letter to access that list. With what I have saved in my Favorites, I don't go to the HOME page and there is no way to click on Home Page from the "C" page. Maybe some of you who are tech-savvy can tell us how to reach the home page of the index. I know the numbers in the addy change with the different pages and the 'c' near the end before 'html' changes. I'm going to work with this for awhile, but my modem/phone line is as slow as molasses runnin' uphill on a cold January mornin'. Thx, SueBee
SueBee, Would you like for me to e-mail the page to you after I get it pulled up. The first URL is the entire index, and when you scroll all of the way to the bottom, just click on HOME and it brings up the home page. It is a very large file,so takes a few minutes to load for slowPC"s , Margaret ----- Original Message ----- From: "SBuzby" <sbuz@rsonline.net> To: <valee@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 13, 2008 1:40 PM Subject: [VALEE] INDEX Early Settlers Lee Co VA > Will someone who has a fast computer and who knows how to search/access on > the Internet, go to this addy > http://web.archive.org/web/*/earlysettlersleecountyva.com/* > > and see if you can find the entire index archived? > If you are successful, will you please share with the rest of us?
