Thanks Dotty- Posting the will was a good thing -appreciate that. I knew that Alexander was named in the will-like others-the info was not right in front of me at the time. They say the memory is the first to go. Can they be right? If memory serves and it may not-according to the earlier census records of Lee Co Va. and the account of Esaw Wilkes Creech (son of Isaac and Mariah Penington Creech) there is not an open window for Elenor Lucas to be a dau of Elijah. However, we are doing genealogy and not mythology. By all means, lets keep an open mind. The Rev. Jay Dickey;s diary states that Elijah had 22 children-11 girls ad 11 boys. That is not absolute proof either. Quite a few mistakes have been proven by researchers in the diary. The middle wife of Elijah that has been mentioned but not proven-was named in Creech Lineage as Betsy Lucas (Sarah Elizabeth). A possible connection there could prove interesting. There is also a possibility that Elijah was married between his Anglin wife and Nancy Spencer-her name was possibly Sarah hence the name Sarah was given to his Anglin wife. This middle wife could possibly be the mother of Enoch and maybe Clarinda. This needs proving. We have been unable to prove this thus far-working on it- Elijah did not have a son named Ira. That Ira belongs to Jonathan, the brother of Elijah. We do believe that Elijah did have a son named Alexander however-that aalso died at Camp Douglas POW Camp.
