Dear List Friends-- Looking for into on the Hammonds family. My grandmother was Margaret Blanche Hammonds, born in Blackwater, VA and married to George Fletcher. Her parents were John Patton Hammonds and Barbara Elizabeth (?) Hammonds. Barbara died when grandma was a young girl; she went to live w/ older sisters (Emma & Kate--there may have been a brother); her dad remarried and had a whole other family w/ the new wife. Supposedly, John and Barbara are buried at Gibson Station (?). I hope to visit over Labor Day. It's amazing how much info you all seem to have! Can anyone help point me in the right direction? I notice that many of you have census info avail. Would someone please see if they could locate my great-grandparents in their census info? Also, this book I read about, "Families of Lee Co. VA"--is it available? Would someone be kind enough to look up info in there, too? Thanks so much! mel hohler
