Can anyone here tell me whether the Lee Co. courthouse has chancery case files from the early to mid 1800s? I live in Kentucky and called the circuit court clerk's office to inquire and was told they do have some records, which I was welcome to search, but which they apparently don't have an inventory list of. The Library of Virginia has a program to index such chancery case files for the counties who have sent their records to them, but Lee Co. is apparently still in possession of such files. What I am wanting to know is the time period such case files are extant. So I was wondering if anyone on this list lived in Lee Co. and could advise me on this question. Thanks Mike Ferguson
