I am trying to locate the parents and ancestors of James Jonas Campbell b. Feb. 12, 1826, Lee Co Va. I have information of father James Campbell Jr. b. 1786, Cecil Co. MD m. Elizabeth Furguson Murphy. And, James Campbell Sr., b.1744-1749 m. to Mary Gibbs as grandparents. I saw an entry on RootsWeb's World Connect that connected them to David Campbell, father of the well known pioneer Arthur Campbell, as a brother to Arthur, but I looked up that families history and it states the son James died in his youth. (That would be the James Sr.) There are two James Campbells (Jr. & Sr.) in the Lee Co. census. Does anyone have their families before them. I have some family of James Jones Campbell to present.
