I am looking for info on my great grandfather Sylvanus S Robinson. I found out through some old official records that he stated he was born in Jonesville, Lee Cty. in about 1837. If any one has any info on Sylvanus or the family, I would appreciate it. Thank You, Jeanne

Jeanne: According to what I have in my tree, Sylvanus was the son of James Robinson and Mary Rouse, both of Washington County, Virginia. I don't have anything on the Robinsons, but I believe Mary Rouse was the daughter of Jacob Rouse and Dorcas Cole. I can provide more details on these families if you'd like, but I must admit that everything that I have came off the web, so I can't verify any of it. Let me know if you'd like to see what I have. By the way, Dorcas Cole is thought to be a descendant of Stephen Hopkins, one of the original Mayflower passengers. You should be able to find something on the web about this family.
