I am unable to find James or Elizabeth Smith Rutherford in the Early Settlers Vols. These books are not individually indexed, but they were not mentioned in the family groups that were listed. I did find an Elizabeth Henderson Smyth, born July 3, 1818, d. June 18, 1886; m. Mar 26, 1835 to John Debo Sharp Russell. That is as close as I could get. Neither was I able to find them in the 1st or 2nd volumes of the Cemetery books. I don't have the 3rd volume. I also looked for them in the bicentennial book and was unable to find them. There were many Elizabeth Smiths listed in the index. I did not check all of them, but there were no James Rutherfords mentioned at all, so I didn't check all the Elizabeth's who were listed.
