Looking for information, especially when she died, where she was buried, and where we might look for an obituary. Elizabeth SMITH b. ~1818 Lee Co. VA (parents unknown) married James RUTHERFORD (son of Finney RUTHERFORD & Ann ___) on 13 Feb 1835 Lee Co. VA. James d. 18 Oct 1861 Lee Co. VA. I think they lived in the middle third of Lee Co. In 1850 they were in the 31st Dist. Elizabeth and her family (including daughter Emily and her husband Hiram BOWLIN) moved to Madison Co. KY about 1866. Elizabeth SMITH RUTHERFORD died about 1892 in KY. It is likely that her body was taken back to Lee Co. VA to be buried with her husband. Any info or suggestions welcome. Elizabeth was my direct maternal line ancestor. I'd love to know where she came from, and I'd be happy to find out where she went. Thank you!
