Hello: I don't mean to barge into your discussion, but I have been reading with great interest. My Great Uncle, Robert Dillman, and several of his siblings, were born and raised in Rose Hill, Lee County, by their Grandparents who had the last name of Eldredge. I will look my census records up tomorrow and find their names. I believe I first found them on the 1900 or 1910 census. I believe Uncle Bob's mother also lived off and on with her parents, but was not there, most of the time. I don't know the story. I just remember my grandmother telling me that Uncle Bob was born in Rose Hill and after he married Allie Bolling Dillman, ran a store or barbershop on the right side of the road, heading east. The new road has taken the old site now, but I remember as a child, her showing it to me. She failed to mention that he was raised by Eldredge grandparents. I found that myself, when I went looking for him in the census. He was my Daddy's favorite Uncle. I hope you both will be on here tomorrow, when I can tell you their names.
