    3. Phil, First look at wills. And look at his wife family. In those times the wife would not have been allowed to own the land. If her father had left it to her in his will; Elisha would have become the owner not his wife. Also, check to see if he got thourgh a marriage bond. Some bonds included land instead of money. I have seen a groom getting a couple of chickens and goats for the bond..lol. Hope that help some. Crystal Elisha Smith and family are listed in the 1850 census as having real estate valued at $1,000 also in the 1850 agriculture census shows he has land 23 acres improved 86 unimproved Question.....I can't seem to find the transaction of him acquiring this land........is there anyone out there that may give me advice on this issue? phil --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
