Back in the late part of November we were exchanging e-mails about who the 2nd wife of Elijah Creech was. I am totally confused with this line since Elijah is my Great-Great-Grandfather. Some documents say she was Nancy Spencer and some say she was Nancy Wells. I was in Lee Co. Virginia over the weekend and did just a little searching before the Library closed in Pennington Gap. In the marriage records it shows that Nancy Creech a widow married William Brewster on April 22, 1856. It also shows that her parents were William & S. Wells. I also find in the Early Settlers of Lee Co. where Elijah had a son named Elijah Green Creech and it says he was married to Nancy Spencer. I also would like to know more about the Alexander Creech listed in Owsley Co (or was it Breathitt) in the 1860 census as a school teacher- The 1850 Lee co census shows Alexander as the son of Elijah as an 8 year old son.
