The virus that comes attached with the Snow White e-mail is called "Hybris." You can read about the virii on the Internet at http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/. I would recommend that you get a virus scanner for your PC and that you do the security update for the scanner frequently. There are new virii being introduced constantly on the Internet. The good thing about Rootsweb e-mail lists is that they do not allow attachments. That doesn't mean that someone you've exchanged genealogical data with doesn't have you in their address book - you could get a virus directly from one of the hundreds of folks that you know on the Internet. A very good rule of thumb is to never click on an attachment if you don't know what it is.
