Dear Elaine and other interested parties: The Powell Valley News is the local newspaper, published weekly in Pennington Gap, Lee Co., VA. This began in 1926. Some (or all) of these papers are on microfilm in the local library (Lee Co. Public Library). You might want to call in the afternoons (540) 546-1411(ask for Miss Elizabeth Carpenter, the local genealogy "expert", as she would know what is on microfilm etc.). I bet she would at least let you know if your grandparents are listed in that (or in the Lee Co. Death Registers) which are available in book form at the same library.
