    3. Michelle, I am not a descendant of the Havelys; nevertheless, gathered data on them while researching my Helvey families. I have the wills of Jacob Havely and his wife, Betty, from Washington County, VA (parents of Charles Hoge Havely & others). I have tax records for the Havely and Helvy families in both Washington and Lee Counties. Among the Lee County, VA Court records that I copied on Havely was the following: Lee County Order Book No. 3, 1826-1834, page 145: 27 May 1828. "Charles H. Havely for making coffin for Napier $3.00" Ken ------Original message------ ______________________________ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Jan 2001 14:07:57 -0500 From: "Michelle Haley" <mhaley2000@mediaone.net> To: VALEE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [VALEE-L] Parker / Havely Looking for info on the Parker and Havely families of VA and TN. Looks as if both families came from SW VA to Claiborne Co TN. The families of Charles Hoge Havely & Eliza Louisa Parker, Luke Parker and Janie Mcvay, John B Parker & Margaret Havely, William Parker and Betsy Vermillion all show up on the 1850 census for Claiborne Co TN. There is a John Parker on some early Lee Co TAX and census records as well as Louisa Parker Havely is supposedly buried in Jonesville Lee Co VA. C.H. Havely married twice before to M. Warren and Eliz. Ely both presumed to be from Lee Co. I have also seen Charles Havely as a witness to a will in Wash. Co VA. Any info on these families would be great. ______________________________ ------------------------------
