The Thompson DNA study is at this site. The new page location is: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/thompson/index.aspx?fixed_columns=on They have Ron Thompson (my line) test listed as number 75 on this page. I think it is about $100 for a 13 marker test that would give you an idea of which line you matched. Any direct Thompson male could do this. Hi Barbara, Thank you for trying, It is appreciated! Yes I have quite a few Thompson males in my family and I guess its time to see if I can get some donations from them! Three of them are my brothers and I have some Uncles still alive and cousins galore. Yet I am the only one doing and addicted to the genealogy! For some reason it was something that was not discussed by my fathers family. Grandma always said Grandpa was 3/4 Indian, but I believe this had to come in on the Welch side of the family, even though I would believe he would had to have gotten it on more then one line in order for that to be so. He sure did look it and I have pictures. And I have been to the forums and such that help with this and I would not go back again, those people are downright mean! But again I Thank You and hopefully I can get some interest and help from the family... Evie --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Evie, I didn't find any link to my Thompsons to your Louis Thompson and Sarah Gilbert. Since her parents were in Giles County, VA it would probably be the place to look. Hi, Evie, Did your James Thompson ever buy any land around Island Creek in Giles Co, Va in about 1823? My great great grandparents, Dr. William Gordon Wilson & Mary Valera Ellison Wilson sold 15 acres on Island Creek to a man named James Thompson in that year. They then moved to the Turkey Cove area of Lee Co, Va. south of Big Stone Gap. I have a reference to the sale and can dig it out if you think James is your man. Thanks. Hi, That actually sounds like my line of Thompsons. I have an Elisha b. 1786 MD md. Elizabeth Taylor. He is a brother to John Harvey Thompson who had a son named John Harvey Thompson who settled in Knox County, KY. We have a branch of Elisha Thompson in Clay County, KY so your branch could very well be related. Send me a couple of generations of your Thompsons and I will see if I can find a connection. We are always glad to find more of our Thompsons.
