whats the website for barbara turners info on Lee County, Va?
Has anyone stumbled upon information regarding the first name of a Mr. Ward who was married to Wilmuth Taylor, the daughter of Joel and Wilmuth Gilbert Taylor? Wilmuth was born in Lee County, VA and was born around 1841/42. She appears to have been previously married to a Larkin Vandeventer around 1859/60. I don't know when she married the Mr. Ward but Joel Taylor's will in 1868 specifies her as Wilmuth Ward. In 1874 they had a daughter named Ida Wilhelmina ward and she is my great-grandmother. By 1880 Wilmuth and Ida Ward are living in Leadville, Colorado but I don't know if she was divorced or widowed by that time. Thanks for any help. Ariel, Thank you very much for the information. I'll check it against what I have to see if there is anything different. I have the information that was listed in the "Early Settlers of Lee County, VA and Adjacent Counties" and in another Lee County publication. I was hoping for some photos of Anthony (b. 1781, d. 1862) and Elizabeth Mace Witt (they probably didn't take photos that long ago). I have not been able to find anything on Elizabeth Mace's family. I'm beginning to believe that she was Native American since there doesn't seem to be a paper trail. The only thing I have found is a Henry Mace that could possibly be her father. Brenda, Isaac Harrieon Sage died 5-29-1912 Doyle, Stephens County, Oklahoma buried Owens Prairie Cemetery east of Marlow, Stephens County, Oklaoma beside Lucy Ellen Ward Sage. You will see Corda Pendergrass and Minerva (his wife) contesting James Thompson's will. The source of most of my data was pasted down through the Pendergrass and Burke family. It is through the Karen and Linda Pendergrass Giess. It is told that The Pendergrass, Burke, Thompson and other families moved from Lee Co. VA., into Owsley County, Ky. during the Civil War. Evie, I am sorry for your extreme infirmity. Our Thompsons have heart trouble including me. I guess every family has some kind of affliction. We have the arthritis on our Lewis family.
