Hi. Everyone. I am searching for information on my Tompkins line. My line came from Virginia to Ohio. I am very interested in finding out who Edward B. Tompkins parents are. According to census records they were both born in Virginia but I have no idea where. According to census records Edward was born in Va. in approx 1810, he married a lady named Pheobe Russell she was also born in Va in or around 1811. They had the following children; Margaret, John Russell, Lewis, Benjamin F., Melissa, Emmett. If anyone out there is researching this Tompkins line please contact me. I have alot of information on the Tompkins's of Morgan County, Ohio and some information on Tompkins in Belmont County, Ohio. Any information anyone may have will be greatly appreciated. Teresa

What is the source of this information? I hesitate to forward it to others until I've documented a source. It would be helpful to include that information as well so people could double-check that it is a fact instead of a hoax before forwarding to others. I dislike that we have to be so suspicious of every piece of potential information but it would save a lot of time for all of us if sources were included in this type of message. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Subj: [ALWALKER] Discovery of cemetery halts roadwork Date: 5/16/2001 9:33:02 AM Pacific Daylight Time From: JustGranni@aol.com To: ALWALKER-L@rootsweb.com Discovery of cemetery halts roadwork--Associated Press-Kansas City-- Construction of a new highway in south Kansas City has been halted by the discovery of a small cemetery dating back to the Civil War era. State officials are anxious to find any descendants of the Holloway family who are buried in the cemetery. If the heirs can't be found, the state will have to get court permission to move the nine graves in the plot, in order to finish a new Missouri 150. Construction workers recently unearthed a marble headstone, dating from 1858, while moving a large section of water pipe. Archaeologists later found another headstone and evidence of seven other graves. The site has not been disturbed further. Please pass this on to other lists.
Hello List~ I was hoping someone could do me a favor and look for an Alexander and Nancy Quesenberry in the 1850 Lee Co, Census. Alexander would be about age 8, and Nancy would be age 25. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Leslie Ann
Good morning list~ I was hoping that someone could help me out with the 1870 census. I need to find a Nancy Stewart/Stuart in the 1870 Lee Co, Census. She should be about 51. Any info appreciated. Thanks a bunch, Leslie Ann
Good morning list! I was hoping someone could help me out. On the Lee Co Census for 1860, there is a listing for William H. and Nancy Stuart with an Alexander Crusenberry. I would appreciate if someone could send me all the information on that, ages, census date, etc. Thanks a bunch, Leslie Ann
Hi list. I have a question about book I see mentioned a lot, The Early Settlers of Lee County. I don't have access to it and wondered if it mentioned any Blantons. In the Chronicles of the Scotch Irish I have found reference to a William Blanton who said he had been in the area for several years when the county was young. I wonder if he could be related to the William Blanton who married Elizabeth Gilley? Can anybody help? Does anybody know the parents of the either William? Thanks. Carol, Bales, in the Early Settlers of Lee County, Va states a deed. 6 May 1836 William Ely deeded a brown mare with increase to Jane Ely, Catherine Ely, John Ely, Elizabeth Ely, and Martha Ann Ely, Infant children of William Ely, Jr for the natural love and affection he has for his grandchildren. >From the 1850 Lee County, Va Census; census page 413. date 15th of Oct; House #1557 Napier, George, age 26 yr, male, born Va, Farmer Napier, Jane, age 24 yr, female, born Va Napier, Frances E, age 6/12, female, born Va Best Regards, Dot ===================== Carol Appel Basham wrote: > Napier/Ely folks, > I am told that my Jane Ely, born c. 1825 is the daughter of WIlliam Ely, > JR.--this from a family member who dabbles in geneaolgy. Hi Carol - The problem is that my Catherine was born much after William's daughter Catherine, although the implication that they are one and the same is made repeatedly. My family believes that they were connected to the Ely's, but so far the dates that we have do not compute. I would like to find out more on William's daughter in order to eliminate her or move her in my tree. I do think your Jane could be William's daughter - I show her as born 1818-1823 based on the Ancestral File of Thomas Ely. I also show George's grandmother was Rachel Ely! Brenda Carol Appel Basham wrote: > brenda, looks like your Catherine Ely could be my grgrgrandmother's sister > if they are both daughter to William Ely, Jr. Nancy Napier is mine ancestor > possibly married a george napier. carol
Tom Ely, Question, I have in my file a marriage dat for Jane Ely and Rene Napier as Feb 21, 1787. You say May 8, 1787. Location is the same. Could this be Marriage Bond versus Marriage Date. Just wondered which might be correct. What do you think? Carol Braydic@aol.com
Napier/Ely folks, I am told that my Jane Ely, born c. 1825 is the daughter of WIlliam Ely, JR.--this from a family member who dabbles in geneaolgy. Anyone able to place them? AM also told she married a George Napier. Someone on the list travelling soon to LEE might be able to look at millers chapel to see if he is buried there. I was there two years ago and saw JAne Ely's stone--didn't look for his at the time. carol
I need census look up for Morman Lawson in the 1810 and 1820 census. In 1810 his name was spelled Moorman Lawson. In 1820 his name was spelled Marman Lawson. Your help is greatly appreciated. Patricia
